The 13th annual Taste of Vermont reception in Washington, D.C., with honored guest Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., will be held May 10.
The annual event showcases Vermont products and destinations, with more than 60 Vermont businesses represented at the reception. Many will send representatives to Washington for this special event.
Local presenters include Jan’s Farmhouse Crisps, Laughing Moon Chocolates, Lawson’s Finest Liquids, Lost Nation Brewing, Pete’s Greens, Smugglers’ Notch Distillery, Stowe Cider, The Alchemist and von Trapp Brewing.
The invitation-only reception will be held in the historic Kennedy Caucus Room of the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill, with an attendee list including U.S. senators and representatives, federal and Vermont government officials, Vermont Convention Bureau members, specialty food buyers, travel and food reporters and meeting planners.
“The record, the reputation and the renown of the Taste of Vermont proves that tasting is believing,” Sen. Leahy said. “Quality is paramount in the Green Mountain State. It is our brand. Vermont has an international reputation for quality, purity and craftsmanship, from world class beer, cheese and maple products, to world-renowned skiing, hiking and stunning landscapes.
“Across the nation and beyond, there is growing interest in our small state’s expanding variety of fine products, made with pride, skill and a tradition of excellence,” he said.
