"For this cereal I would forsake all others!" Quaker Hill Granola was started in 1990 in my home at the base of Quaker Hill in central Vermont. Like many other small Vermont companies, I quickly outgrew the home kitchen and found myself lugging 50# bags of oats and dozens of jugs of Vermont maple syrup into town to do the baking in a commercial kitchen. Also along for the trip was my newborn son who grew up watching his mother bake, package and deliver this granola. We are several tons of granola further down the road now....That son who was born the same year as the business is old enough to help with some of the granola deliveries and has earned the title of "company humorist". Apparently, growing up on a diet rich in granola can produce a good natured teenager!
